After a short hiatus from playing together Tomi Mykkänen and Henkka Vahvanen from Battlelore started jamming again. Soon it was decided that they needed to form a band for the jams. Miika Kokkola (founding member and original bass player from Battlelore) was contacted and asked if he wants to jam with the guys. He did. They played and jammed a few times and then it was decided that second guitarist would be a great addition. Miika said that he had already talked with Tommi Havo (another original Battlelore member) about the project and that he was very interested. So, enter Tommi and on the first rehearsal together the first real song was made. On the second rehearsal the second song was made and then it was realized that the band had born.

In January 2013 "Soaring High EP" was released as a limited CD-release. The EP showcases quite well the versatility and the musicianship of the band. It shows their sides from the pure stoner rock frenzy to the doomier as well as more psychedelic fields. The EP sold out in couple of weeks after the release. The feedback and the buzz has been awesome-lly great and the band is very humbled about it. The EP is digitally available at the Bandcamp-site.

The song "All Life Long" was released as a video and digi-single late summer 2013.

A split-7" with fellow band CHURCH OF VOID was released in May 2014. LOWBURN song on the split is called "Dope Is a Pope".

In early 2015 guys started to record material that would become the first album called "Doomsayer" (BANDCAMP-link). After the album was recorded the band started looking for possible quarters to co-operate with the release. Soon after the connection with Italian ARGONAUTA Records was founded and the album release was set to October 2015. The album was mastered by Billy Anderson and the cover artwork was done by David Paul Seymour (website). The album was received very well and to some critical acclaim throughout the stoner/rock/metal world and the first pressing of the album is already sold out. There have been discussions about making a re-release of the album.

Even though the collective gig amount in the band is almost 500, LOWBURN has played only a couple dozen gigs so far. Currently we are discussing for different possibilities to tour in Finland and also abroad.

Whilst making the final touches on the "Doomsayer" material and realising that we will probably play more gigs next year Havoc decided to step out from the band. Gladly our inner circle is wide and able so we have a new guy in the band already. We welcome another Tommi to the fold!

During the summer of '17 Miika decided to step out of the band because of his too hectic lifestyle of being an enterpreneur and living in different city than the other guys. But once again it didn't take too long to find some new flesh to fill the low frequencies, so the band announced mr. Antti Vesikko to join the ranks. New songs were made and rehearsed during summer/autumn and in december 2017 the guys started recording new album.

New EP called "Sleeping Giant EP" is to be released on february 2nd 2018. The songs on that EP were recorded on the "Doomsayer" sessions. The EP features re-recorded versions of "All Life Long" and lovecraftian "The Power It Holds" and a jam called "Sleeping Giant" and a cool nod to the past in form of "Lost Control". The EP is digi only release for now and is once again handled by Argonauta Records.
